Every so often there will be news reports of parents camping overnight on a school’s property just to ensure they will secure a spot for their child to be able to attend. Just last week there were reports of it happening in Vacaville for the new college preparatory school Buckingham Charter Magnet High School. Are these parents too extreme?

My answer: I don't think I would camp overnight for my child's school, but I can understand why some parents do. I also understand why a family might move from a city who's school district isn't very competitive academically. You want your child to be equipped with the tools they need to be successful.
