DHS Kicks-off Spirit Week With College Day

This week is Spirit Week on the DHS campus, Monday was College Day and Dixon Patch out and interviewed some of the seniors going to college this fall.

Spirit Week And College Day

Monday kicked off Spirit Week at , now a, with College Day.  Between 60 and 70 Seniors will be going to college this fall, we talked to a few of them.  Students will be attending colleges and universities  all over the country.

In May of 2010, 90 juniors and seniors took a total of 135 Advanced Placement exams in six subjects. Eighty-four percent of the students earned scores of three, four or five. Sixteen-point-four percent of the graduating class earned credit bearing AP scores, scoring a three or higher at any point in their high school years.

A few of the students highlighted:

Laura Garcia: Laura will be going to San Diego State to study Kinesiology (Human Kinetics: Science of human movement) with a minor in Spanish.  She visited the So. Cal region and loved it.  She will have a full schedule but still wants to play water polo for a local club.  She mentioned that one of the deciding factors for her was the price of education, San Diego State was less expensive then some of the other options she looked at.
