HOW TO RECOVERY FROM A FUN NIGHT

Happy November! I think it is officially the start of the holiday season. I am sure a lot of you are still recovering from sugar and alcohol consumption lol. Even though I was a good girl and didn't touch a piece of candy last night, I did think it may be helpful to give some hand dandy detox tips for the holiday season. While candy is not my weakness, I really love beer and wine and i’m not afraid to admit it and I love desserts lol. In the spirit of recovery, I decided to make a list of my top detox and recovery foods.I have found these remedies to be most helpful and I have a feeling these might come in handy for everyone over the next two months lol.

Chia Seeds- I know you are probably sick of hearing about chia seeds but I sweat these things are the bomb! They help detox your body especially your liver. You can put these in some water or coconut water and sip on them throughout the day.

Lemons- Fresh lemons in water will help flush out toxins in your body. If you want to reap the full benefit of this, have a glass of warm water with fresh lemon juice first thing when you wake up in the morning.

Cucumber Water-Cucumber waters is a great way to flush out toxins and it taste yummy. Make a big pitcher of it and drink it throughout the day. If you really want to maximize the benefits throw a few slices of lemon in there too. If you really want to get fancy get a back of frozen berries and throw a handful in there too.

Pomegranates- I love this time of year when pomegranates are in season. Pomegranates are a natural antioxidant and will help repair damage caused by free radicals caused by alcohol or sugar.

Coconut Water- Coconut water is packed full of nutrients and electrolytes and makes the perfect morning after recovery drink. This will also help flush out toxins and aid in repairing your body

Sweating- Sweating is a great way to detoxify your body. I do not recommend this if you are dehydrated or are still in the recovery stages after drinking too much alcohol. If you have access to a Sauna or Steam room this is ideal. If you do not have access to these then I would recommend creating your own steam room buy turning the shower on and putting a towel under the door to trap in the steam. You can always sweat the old fashioned way to by exercising .

Juicing- I can’t say enough good things about the benefits of juicing. To get the full benefits of juicing you will want to juice vegetables and limit your fruits. Green vegetables will give you the most bang for your buck and have the most health benefits. If you are new to juicing then I recommend doing a little research and find a recipe that works for you. I like to do a mixture of spinach, carrots, apples, and kale. This is a great detox juice.

Smoothies-I really like to make smoothies because they are fast and you can add tons stuff to them. My favorite detox smoothie is spinach, peaches, coconut water, spirulina, and banana. This taste so good my kids will even drink it.

Hopefully some of these suggestions help and you will be able to get these the holiday season without reaping to much havoc on your body. :)
