What Did Your Congressman's Seat Cost?

Find out how much Rep. John Garamendi had to raise to win the election.

Rep. John Garamendi continues to represent his 3rd Congressional district, which includes Dixon.

But how much did his House seat cost him?

Campaigns cost money—most of the time lots of it. In terms of dollars and cents, Garamendi raised $2,085,819 during the 2012 election cycle, according to MapLight, a non-profit that tracks money in politics.

That figure is only slightly higher than the average House member raised, which was  $1,689,580, or $2,315 a day, according to MapLight.
