Supplemental Ballots for Fairfield, Benicia Voters

The Solano County Registrar of Voters will be issuing supplemental ballots to Fairfield, Benicia voters.

SOLANO COUNTY – Voters in Fairfield and Benicia will receive a supplemental official ballot for the Nov. 8 election to cast their votes for uncontested races.

The supplemental official ballot includes City Clerk candidate Lisa Wolfe in Benicia and City Clerk candidate Jeanette Bellinder and City Treasurer candidate Oscar Reyes in Fairfield.  The supplemental official ballot is in addition to the official ballot for the contested races in Fairfield and Benicia.

Permanent vote-by-mail voters should receive their supplemental official ballot early next week.  The supplemental official ballot should be returned separately in the envelope provided; these ballots will be tracked separately from other vote-by-mail ballots.

The uncontested races were left off the official ballot due to some inconsistencies within the election code for consolidated elections, which resulted in an incomplete interpretation of the code.  The code requires in the case of a general law city that uncontested race should be listed if there is another citywide contest on the ballot.

“We apologize for the omission and the inconvenience on the voters,” said Assistant Registrar of Voters Lindsey McWilliams.
