Special Meeting Will Focus on Shade Structures for Fireworks Stands

The Dixon City Council will meet today in a special meeting at the Dixon Fire Department to discuss shade structures for the eight fireworks stands operating in Dixon

The Dixon City Council will meet tonight in a special meeting to discuss a revision to the fireworks ordinance.

During Tuesday's meeting of the Dixon City Council, American Legion Post 208 Cmdr. Greg Coppes asked the council if it would be OK to install a canopy to provide shade next to the fireworks stand run by the American Legion Auxiliary along Pitt School Road.

Mayor Jack Batchelor told Coppes to bring the matter to the Dixon Fire Deparment. Tonight, the city council will discuss the matter in a special meeting inside the Dixon Fire Deparment, 7 p.m., 205 Ford Way.
