So Much to Do in Dixon: From Theatre & Soccer (For Kids) to Zumba & Bingo (For Adults)

Registration for Preforming Arts, Sports, Fitness, Crafts & More is available through Dixon City Hall. Plenty of activities for seniors, adults, and kids of all ages to enjoy.

There are exciting things happening in Dixon for kids and adults. Registration is open or upcoming for all of these things. You'll have no excuse for boredom after browsing this list! 

Youth Activities

Beauty and the Beast Performance: Dixon High School Theater Dixon Recreation Department and Starbound Theatre announce open auditions  for ages 8-17 for to perform in the production of Beauty and the Beast. Rehearsals will be held Tue/Thurs/Fri,  4:30 to 7 p.m.

Just4Kicks Soccer for children ages 3.5-6 years old for a 6 week session beginning Dec. 4. Just4Kicks conducts instructional lessons that develop skills as well as emotional development required for the game of soccer. Each session will focus on a particular aspect of the game utilizing specifically designed activities. A typical session will include a warm-up, topic introduction, demonstrations, activities to learn, practice on a certain skill, recreational games, and a soccer match.

The emphasis is on learning and having fun. Classes will be help at Jim B Stevens Arena behind the softball fields at Hall Park. The session is $68 for Dixon residents, register at City Hall or online at activenet3.active.com/cityofdixon/

Dixon Youth Basketball registration begins Monday, Oct. 15, with the season running Jan. 12 - March 16, 2013. Register at Dixon City Hall or online at www.ci.dixon.ca.us.

Adult Activities

Senior Club Potluck & Bingo will be held Sept. 29, at the Dixon Senior Center, 201 S. Fifth St. Doors open at 5:00 PM, Dinner will start at 6:00 PM, please bring a potluck dish to serve 6 people. BINGO will begin following dinner. For more information call (707)678-7022.

Adult Lap Swim at the Dixon City Pool, 450 Mayes St. is available now through October 26.

Monday-Friday 5:30-7:00 A.M., 1:00-2:00 P.M., and 6:00-7:00 P.M.

Register at the pool. Each visit is $3 or save by purchasing a 20 visit punch card for $45.

Adult Drop in Co-Ed Volleyball begins October 3. Meet  at Jim B. Stevens Arena, Wednesdays, Oct. 3-Jan. 30 and Fridays, Oct. 5-Jan. 25. $4 per person, per day 7:00-9:00pm

Space is limited, first come, first serve. No class: 10/31, 11/21, 11/23, and 12/26. Registration will be taken beginning at 6:45 pm each night.
