Firehouse Bistro could soon move to the location formerly occupied by the Cottage Exchange, which announced it would go out of business last month.
Firehouse Bistro owners have said they are interested in moving to the First Street location, which is already equpiped with a kitchen.
"Zoning allows restaurants pretty much anywhere downtown," said Community Development Director David Dowswell. "They would have to go through the building department to get any necessary improvements."
The Bistro has not yet turned in any formal papers, but Dowswell heard at a recent staff meeting that there is talk of relocation.
An employee at Firehouse Bistro told me by phone Wedneday that "it's still in the works," and said to check back in the coming weeks.
