By Bay City News

The Solano County coroner's office identified 49-year-old Maria Johnson as the victim of a solo-vehicle fatal crash on westbound Interstate Highway 80 this morning.

Johnson was a Vacaville resident, although initial reports suggested the victim was from Arizona, the California Highway Patrol said.

Coroner's office deputy Ray Lamb said Johnson had an Arizona driver's license and that her 1995 Ford Explorer was registered in Kansas.

Johnson was driving west on I-80 just east of Columbus Parkway in Vallejo when she turned left for an unknown reason and collided with the center divide wall, CHP Officer Chris Parker said.

The Ford SUV rolled onto its left side and partially ejected Johnson who was not wearing a seatbelt, Parker said. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.

The 11:20 a.m. crash closed the two left lanes of the freeway for about two hours. Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call the CHP at (707) 428-2100.
