Vacaville Police Make Arrests in Purse Snatching/Slashing Incident

Police take three teenagers into custody in connection with an Aug. 31 purse snatching in which a woman's throat was slashed

The Vacaville Police Department has arrested three Vallejo teenagers on suspicion of attempted murder and robbery in connection with a brutal crime in which a 52-year-old Vacaville woman’s throat was slashed.

The department’s Investigative Services Section and Crime Suppression Team teamed up with Vallejo Police Department’s Crime Suppression Unit Thursday to execute four search warrants in Vallejo residences.

Police believe that three Vallejo teens – Anthony Charles, 18, a 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy – are responsible for slashing a woman’s throat during a robbery (the boys allegedly took her purse) on Aug. 31, at Sunrise Drive and Sungate Court in Vacaville, at 10:20 a.m.

In addition to the assault, police believe that the trio is responsible for a Vacaville burglary on the same day of the assault, according to police.

Police found several items in the Vallejo homes linking them to the aforementioned crimes, police said.

The victim in the assault is expected to make a full recovery, according to police. The names of the juveniles arrested on suspicion of the crimes are not being released because they are minors.
