A man who was struck and killed this morning in Suisun City by an Amtrak train headed south toward San Jose has been identified as a 63-year-old man, a deputy at the Solano County coroner's office said.
James Chadwick, a Vacaville resident, was pronounced dead at the scene after he was hit by Capitol Corridor train No. 523, Solano County coroner's Deputy Dorji said.
He was hit about a tenth of a mile from the Suisun City station at about 6:10 a.m., Amtrak spokeswoman Vernae Graham said
A preliminary investigation showed that the man intentionally got in front of the oncoming train, according to Suisun City police.
The 135 passengers onboard the train were put on another train after the fatal incident, Graham said.
