A Vacaville man was arrested after authorities said he solicited a 14-year-old girl in a grocery store parking lot Monday afternoon.
Shortly before 4:30 p.m., the girl was sitting in a parked car while her mother was shopping at the Lucky’s Supermarket at 777 E. Monte Vista Ave. in Vacaville, when police say she was approached by a middle-aged man seeking a sexual encounter.
The suspect, 44 year-old Juventino Zaragoza, reached into the vehicle and touched the victim, then solicited a sexual act in exchange for money, according to a press release. He gave the victim his phone number before leaving the area.
The girl reported the incident to her parents, who called Vacaville police. Patrol officers arranged telephone contact with the suspect, who agreed to meet the girl at the Lucky’s parking lot for a sexual act in exchange for $50, the press release stated.
The girl positive identified Zaragoza, and police arrested him.
Zaragoza was booked into the Solano County Jail and charged with a felony count of a lewd act on a child, felony arrangement of meeting with a minor for engaging in certain lewd and lascivious behavior and misdemeanor annoying or molesting a child.
