Two People Shot Thursday Evening in Fairfield in Critical Condition

Fairfield police said two people who were shot Thursday evening are in critical condition but are expected to survive their injuries.
  
Police responded around 7:25 p.m. to a report of shooting in the area of Peppertree Drive and Willow Lane, Lt. Stephen Crane said.

When officers arrived they determined the shooting happened at Willow Lane and Balsam Court in northeast Fairfield, Crane said.

After officers got to the scene the shooting victims arrived at the Northbay Medical Center, Crane said.

One of the victims, a 27-year-old Fairfield resident, suffered a gunshot wound to the hip and hand.

The other victim, a 29-year-old Fairfield resident, suffered a gunshot wound to the torso, Crane said. The investigation is ongoing, Crane said.
