During the chase, one of the suspects tossed an item, later recovered and identified as a loaded BB handgun, police said. The suspects were identified as a 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy, both from Fairfield, and were booked into Solano County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of burglary, vandalism, and resisting arrest, police said.

The 16-year-old suspect was on active probation and also booked for probation violation. An investigation of the break-in revealed four classrooms had shattered windows. Stolen property from a classroom was also recovered after being discarded by the suspects during the foot chase.
