Toddler Falls From Second-Story Window, Airlifted to Hospital

Toddler fell Wednesday afternoon from a second-story building on the 200 block of West H Street.

A two-year-old boy was seriously injured Wednesday afternoon when he fell from the window of a two-story building on the 200 block of West H Street.

Department crews arrived on the scene at 2:30 p.m., to treat the injured boy, but had to call in the assistance of a CALSTAR helicopter to transport the boy to UC Davis Medical Center.

Details of how the boy fell are not clear at this time, the is investigating the incident.

“All we know is when we got there, is that there was a child that fell from a second-story window,” said Dixon Fire division chief Ron Karlen.

Karlen said the boy landed hard on the street below.

“It looked like the mother was probably holding the child because she had a lot of blood on herself,” said Karlen, explaining the scene after the arrival of firefighters.

The Dixon Fire Department cleared a landing space for a CALSTAR air ambulance to land at the parking lot on the 900 block of North Adams Street. The boy, whose name and condition was not available, was airlifted to the hospital.
