By Bay City News
A San Jose man was arrested Sunday evening for a hit-and-run collision that injured three children in Vacaville hours earlier, a police sergeant said today.

Vacaville police received a call around 3 p.m. Sunday about a white Chevrolet pickup with Arizona plates that had struck three children ages 6, 7 and 9 who were playing on Monticello Court, police Sgt. Rick Elm said.

Two of the children were taken to a local trauma center, and one was flown to UC Davis Medical Center, Elm said.

The pickup truck was found in Winters in Yolo County, and police learned around 6 p.m. that the driver had checked into a motel in Dunnigan, about 40 miles north of where the collision happened, Elm said.

Yolo County sheriff's deputies arrested Wesley Murray, 31, of San Jose, on outstanding warrants, and Murray later admitted that he was the driver of the pickup, Elm said.

Murray was booked into Yolo County Jail. Anyone with information about the hit-and-run collision is asked to call Officer Andy Polik at (707) 449-5200.
