Sunday Drive Ends in Jail After Dixon Man Crashes Into Home

The 20-year-old Dixon man attempted to leave the scene of the accident after the crash, but neighbors stopped him police said

A Sunday afternoon drive ended badly for a 20-year-old Dixon man.

The Dixon Police Department arrested Gabriel Ramirez on suspicion of DUI and hit-and-run with property damage after he allegedly crashed into a Dixon home.

Police said Ramirez was speeding and failed to negotiate a turn. Ramirez lost control of his white 2002 BMW and crashed into the front corner of a home on the 600 block of Bell Drive around 1 p.m., Sunday.

After crashing into the home, Ramirez allegedly attempted to run away from the scene of the accident, but neighbors stopped him from fleeing, according to police.

During the investigation, Dixon police officers determined that Ramirez was DUI at the time of the crash and took him to Solano County Jail. No injuries were reported.
