Solano Sheriff's Department Searching for Missing Fairfield Mother and her Two Children

Missing Fairfield mother told her husband she was taking the kids to the store for some milk and never returned to home

The Solano County Sheriff’s Department is searching for a Fairfield mother and her two children who went missing Friday evening after taking a trip to the market for some milk.

At 6:30 p.m., Friday, 41-year-old Elmeran Casondra Stewart told her husband that she was going to the store for some milk Solano Sheriff’s Lt. Gary Faulkner said. Stewart took her two children – Hayden, 10, and Kailey, 5 – and drove away from her home in a red 1992 Toyota Corolla, California license number 4YBN892. Stewart never returned to the Monte Vista Court at Rockville Road area home Faulkner said.

“Every investigator in the department has been called in to investigate this case,” Faulkner said.

Stewart’s husband told deputies that he was concerned for his children because his wife had been behaving oddly and had been investigating Internet sites that feature ways to harm children Faulkner said.

“Obviously (this) causes us to have a significant concern for their whereabouts,” Faulkner said.

Police were alerted of the disappearance at 8 a.m., Saturday. Sheriffs did not issue an Amber Alert notification for this case because the alert is set aside for child abductions. Since both parents have full custody of their two children, this case doesn’t meet that criteria Faulkner said.

Stewart is described as last seen wearing a pink tank top and black pants; Hayden was last seen wearing a blue jacket and blue pants and Kailey wore black pants with an unknown-colored top. Both children have blond hair and blue eyes.

Stewart is believed to have family in Florida; otherwise there is no further information available at this time the department said. Also, Stewart’s car has a front hood that is painted a different shade of red from the rest of the vehicle

Anyone with information about this case is encouraged to contact the department's 24-hour hotline at (707) 421-7090. Anyone who sees the missing individuals outside of Solano County is asked to contact their local law enforcement agency.
