Solano CHP is Collecting Toys For Local Charities

Here's how you can donate!

Two North Bay California Highway Patrol offices have announced toy collection locations for the CHP's "CHiPs for Kids" toy drive.

The Solano County Highway Patrol is collecting new, unwrapped toys Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. through Dec. 19.

Toys may be dropped off at the Department of Motor Vehicles offices at 621 Orange Drive in Vacaville, 160 Serrano Drive in Fairfield and at 200 Couch St. in Vallejo.

The CHP's office at 3050 Travis Blvd. in Fairfield also is accepting toys. For more information call (707) 330-4408.

In Sonoma County, the CHP office at 6100 LaBath Ave. in Rohnert Park is collecting toys Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. through Dec. 16.

The Department of Motor Vehicles offices at 2570 Corby Ave. in Santa Rosa and at 715 J Southpoint Blvd. in Petaluma is collecting toys between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through Dec. 16.

All new, unwrapped toys of any size will go to local charities and nonprofit organizations for distribution on Dec. 17.

Last year, the Santa Rosa area CHP provided approximately 1,000 toys to local charities.

The Santa Rosa CHP also is accepting food donations to be distributed to the Redwood Empire Food Bank.
