San Francisco 49ers Fans Encouraged to Take Muni to First Preseason Home Game Saturday

The Niners are set to square off against their crosstown-rivals the Oakland Raiders in the Battle of the Bay

San Francisco 49ers fans are being encouraged by the city's Municipal Transportation Agency to take public transportation to games this  year, starting with the team's first preseason home game this weekend.

Muni is offering four express bus routes and two shuttles to and from Candlestick Park for the 49ers' 10 scheduled home games this season -- two preseason and eight regular season games.

The team's first home game is at 5 p.m. Saturday when they host the Oakland Raiders.

Muni's four express routes each cost $12 roundtrip for adults, $10 for youth, seniors and the disabled, and $8 for Muni monthly pass, Passport or CityPass Special Event holders.

The two shuttles only cost the regular Muni fare of $2 per trip for adults and 75 cents for youths, seniors and the disabled.

People driving to the stadium should expect delays on all San Francisco highways for at least two hours before and after the games.
