Robbery, Carjacking Interrupted by Fleeing Motorist

The Dixon Police Department is on the lookout for a man who is suspected of attempting to rob and carjack a Dixon motorist

The is on the lookout for a man who is suspected of attempting to rob and carjack a Dixon resident Thursday morning.

The attempted carjacking happened on the 1200 block of Stratford Avenue at 10:10 a.m. Police said the suspect – who is described as a white male, approximately 25 year old, 5 feet 5 inches, with a thin build, blonde hair with a close shaved head and thin mustache, wearing shorts and a white sleeveless shirt – walked up to a motorist and brandished a handgun.

The robber demanded money and the vehicle being driven, but the motorist did not comply and fled in the vehicle, police said. The robber was last seen walking through a parking lot in the 1200 block of Stratford Avenue.
