Police: Toddler OK After Falling from Second Story Window

The boy who fell from a second-story window Wednesday afternoon is doing well, sustained minor injuries

The 2-year-old boy who fell out of the window of a second-story apartment he was playing at sustained only minor injuries according to the Dixon Police Department.

The boy is expected to recover from the injuries he sustained Wednesday afternoon when he fell.

“As far as I know, he is doing very, very well,” said Dixon Police Officer Jeffrey Jacques, who was the acting sergeant Friday. “No major or life-threatening injuries.”

Jacques said the boy, whose name was not released because he is a minor, was playing along with some other kids near a window of a second-story apartment on the 200 block of West H Street. The boy accidently fell from the window to the concrete below, Jacques said.

Dixon Fire crews, arrived on scene around 2:30 p.m., and called in the assistance of a CALSTAR air ambulance that took the boy to UC Davis Medical Center. The police were called in to assist the fire department at the scene.

Jacques said that police are not conducting a criminal investigation into this accident at this time.

“It was a very unfortunate accident, but a very luck child to come out with minor injuries,” he said.
