Police Seek Public's Help to Find Sexual Assault Victims of Fairfield Man
Steven Sherwood, 49, was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and child pornography charges, and was known to associate with young girls, officials say.
Police are asking the public to help identify any additional victims of sexual assaults against young girls after a the arrest of a Fairfield man on child porn and molestation charges.
Fairfield police arrested 49-year-old Steven Sherwood of Fairfield on suspicion of sexual assault and child pornography charges after an investigation that began on May 30.
Sherwood was associated with several young girls who are the children of family friends, and a search of his home in the 900 block of Garfield Street uncovered evidence of multiple sex crimes against children, police said.
He was charged on June 6 and was booked under $3 million bail in the Solano County jail for continuous sexual assault of a minor, aggravated sexual assault of a minor and lewd acts with a minor.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 17 in Solano County Superior Court.
Several additional victims were identified during the investigation and more charges may be filed against Sherwood, police said.
