Pittsburg Man Killed in Area Crash

A Pittsburg man was killed and a Fairfield teenage man suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash Tuesday evening in Fairfield, police said today.

Officers responded to a crash in the area of Airbase Parkway and Wiley Lane at about 7 p.m., according to police.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 38-year-old man dead and a 19 year-old man suffering from life-threatening injuries, police said.

Investigators learned that the deceased was driving a Cadillac west on Airbase Parkway and attempted to turn left onto Wiley Lane. The teen, who was driving a Nissan 300Z east on Airbase Parkway, struck the passenger side of the Cadillac, killing the man, police said.

The name of the man killed has not yet been released.

The 19-year-old was transported to a hospital to be treated for his life threatening injuries. Further details about his condition were not immediately available.
