Man Stabbed In Fairfield

Police are searching for a suspect.

Information from Fairfield Police Department:

At 11:00 a.m. Friday Fairfield Police officers responded to a motel room on the 2100 block of North Texas Street for a report of an injured man.

On arrival officers discovered an 84 year old Fairfield resident suffering from serious stab wounds to his chest and arm. The man also had facial injuries consistent with a beating.

The victim was transported to Northbay Medical Center by ambulance for treatment of his injuries, which were serious but not considered life-threatening.

The victim told officers that sometime during the late evening or early morning hours of the previous night a female had knocked on his motel room offering sex for money.

The victim said he refused the offer, at which time a black male adult forced his way into the room and assaulted him. The victim stated he was beaten and stabbed by the suspect, who eventually fled on foot after stealing cash from him.

Detectives from the Fairfield Police Department Major Crimes Unit responded to assist in the investigation and at press time were pursuing leads in this case.
