Update: Knife, Icepick Used in Wednesday Carjacking

Dixon Police officers are looking for three individuals who carjacked a Dixon resident using a knife and an ice pick.

The incident happened in a normally quiet residential neighborhood, on the 700 block of West Creekside Circle at 8:55 p.m., Dixon Police Sgt. Loren Ellefson said.

A Dixon man was entering his pickup truck when three men approached him Ellefson said.

“One guy tried to ask him for directions and the other guy jumped into the passenger side of his truck,” Ellefson said.

The men were armed – one with a knife, the other with an ice pick – Ellefson said.

“He struggled with them and got away,” he said. “He got scratched a little bit but managed to get away.”

Police believe there was a third suspect involved in the crime, but the two men who did the carjacking were described as Hispanic males, both wearing hooded sweatshirts.

The vehicle that was stolen is described as a green Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck with a gray camper shell (the shell is reported to have some brown spots on it).
