Kiwanis Club Volunteers for Graffiti Clean-Up in Dixon

First task is sound wall near Cattlemens.

The Dixon Police Department announced Tuesday that the City of Dixon and the Kiwanis Club of Dixon have teamed up to fight against the existence of graffiti.

Dixon property owners will now have the assistance of the Dixon Graffiti Abatement Program to quickly remove graffiti from their properties at no cost, said officials.

"It is proven that the quick removal of graffiti often leads to a reduction in having that same area tagged again," the department said.

"The focus of the program was developed so that a team of volunteers can abate the graffiti as soon as it’s been reported."

All volunteers for the program are members of the Kiwanis Club, a global organization dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time.
