Drivers on San Mateo Bridge Warned of High Winds

National Weather Service Reports 22 MPH Gusts

While winds tore through awnings and tipped over giant potted trees in the downtown core of Dixon yesterday afternoon, there doesn't seem to be as strong of winds today but there certainly is as you head toward the Bay Area.

A high-wind advisory has been issued for the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge this afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The warning went into effect at 2:51 p.m. The National Weather Service has tracked wind gusts in the San Mateo area reaching 22 mph this afternoon. If you know anyone who'll be in that area, you might want to call and give them a heads up.

Through the weekend, however, there is only mild winds predicted with sunny skies and a high of 98 degrees.
