Dixon Police Warn of Suspicious and Potentially Dangerous Male After Attempted Abduction

Dixon Police respond with warning to be cautious after rumors were of an attempted abduction were passed around social media throughout the day Friday.

Dixon Police Department released a warning to residents to be cautious and alert of their surroundings, as a suspicious person and vehicle was reported yesterday afternoon.

Social media sites like Facebook and Instagram were alive with rumors of an abduction attempt, with the pictured message reposted dozens of times, however it seemed Dixon Police had not received immediate report of the incident.

At around 9:30 p.m., Dixon Police release the following information on their Facebook page.
 
A male subject, reportedly driving a white four door sedan, approached a female juvenile as she was walking along the 500 block of North 1st Street. The male subject asked the female if he could give her a ride home. She declined. The male subject exited his vehicle and approached the female on foot. From behind, he grabbed the female. The female was able to run away from the male subject without further incident. 

The male subject is described as being a white male, in his late 20s to early 30s, tan, 5’ 10” tall, skinny, short dark hair, short mustache and beard, and a tattoo on his left arm. He was driving a white, four door, late model sedan, possibly a Honda.
