Cars Swerved Around Drunk Man Wandering on I-80 in Dixon, Police Say
"He was found to be intoxicated and was taken into custody for his own safety."
April 8, A Dixon police officer was flagged down on the evening of April 8 by a citizen who said a subject was walking on I-80.
"The officer responded to find a male adult walking on the yellow line on the westbound side of the freeway, waving at cars who were swerving around him," said Sgt. Loren Ellefson in an email to Dixon Patch. "He was found to be intoxicated and was taken into custody for his own safety. He said he was trying to flag down a ride to go to Sacramento."
The name of the subject was not released because the man was not arrested. He was taken into custody and later released without charges being filed.
