Vacaville police are looking for two suspects who were involved in a vehicle chase and shooting on Leisure Town Road Wednesday morning.

Residents in the area called police around 8:40 a.m. to report gunfire on Leisure Town Road near Alamo Drive, Sgt. Jeff King said.

Witnesses said shots were being fired from a vehicle that was chasing another vehicle at more than 90 mph south on Leisure Town Road toward Fairfield, King said.

The chase started near the intersection of Interstate Highway 80 and Leisure Town Road and ended when the vehicle from which shots were fired collided near Vanden Road with an innocent bystander's vehicle, King said.

Another vehicle that was not involved in the chase was struck by a bullet in the windshield, King said.

Police found the vehicle that crashed but did not locate the occupants, who were described as two black males in their 20s armed with handguns, King said.

Police closed Leisure Town Road for two hours for a crime scene investigation.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Vacaville police at (707) 449-5200 or detective Chris Lechuga at (707) 449-5269.
