Alcohol Theft And Physical Assault Leads To Arrest And Two Missing Suspects Tuesday

One arrested after witnesses say they stole alcohol and assaulted store security at Rite-Aid Tuesday evening, two female suspects still at large.

According to Mill Valley police, on December 17 at 8:20 p.m., officers responded to Rite Aid, 701 E. Blithedale Av for a reported theft or possible robbery which had just occurred. The suspects had reportedly fled the area prior to the police arrival. They were described as a black male adult and two black female adults.

Mill Valley PD reports, Officer Caldarulo spoke with Rite-Aid security who said they observed the suspects steal bottles of alcohol from the store and leave. When security confronted the suspects the male subject allegedly physically assaulted store security, threatened store security with a knife, and fled along with the female accomplices.

The male suspect was located a short time later hiding in the Mill Valley Recreation Center. The female suspects were not located. There were no injuries to Rite Aid security.

Gerald Ashby, 50 years old, was arrested for robbery, assault, brandishing a weapon and conspiracy.

The Mill Valley Police Department would like the public's assistance in determining the other two involved parties.
