A lockdown has been lifted at a Vacaville elementary school after nearby police activity prompted the warning, according to a secretary at the Vacaville Unified School District superintendent's office.
Fairmont Elementary School, located at 1355 Marshall Road, was on lockdown after police told school officials about nearby police activity this morning.
A "man apparently called a local hospital this morning saying he had a rifle and a shotgun and threatening to kill himself," according to the Vacaville Reporter, noting that the man's wife was in the home near Shasta Drive and Marshall Road. "The man has been talking with negotiators and just before noon, surrendered and allowed officer to enter the home."
The lockdown was lifted at 11:54 a.m., according to the superintendent's office.
