2 Dixonites Arrested on Suspicion of Burglary, Conspiracy

Two Dixon residents went to jail early Friday on suspicion of burglary, other crimes.

An alert officer broke up a burglary early Friday morning that was allegedly taking place on a business on the 400 block of Porter Road.

Police arrested Dixon residents Kevin Duane Rinearson, 45,  and Desiree Lynn Franks, 31, on suspicion of burglary and conspiracy. An additional charge of resisting arrest was added to Rinearson's charges.

The Dixon Police officer was driving in the area of Porter Road at 1:05 a.m., Friday, when he noticed someone attempting to hide a bicycle in some bushes, Dixon Police Sgt. Loren Ellefson said.

"A guy tried to hide his bicycle in the bushes so they suspect that somebody tried to be there," he said. "It’s a businss with a fence around it with some stuff outdoors."

Police discovered that Rinearson and Franks were allegedy attempting to steal recyclable items from Wiegand Fabrication. With the assistance of a Solano Sheriff's K-9 Unit, police were able to apprehend the duo and take them into custody.

"When he (Rinearson) was located he refused to show his hands and refused to exit his hiding place," Ellefson said, adding that police charged him with resisting arrest because of it. "He didn’t come out of the shelter where he was hiding so they deployed the K-9."

Rinearson was taken to the hospital for treatment of an injury he sustained on his arm during the arrest, Ellefson said. Both were taken to Solano County jail and booked on the aforementioned charges.
