2 Armed Men Arrested for Robbing 4 7-Elevens Stores in One Hour

The crimes occurred Sunday in Fairfield and Suisun City.

Two men were arrested Wednesday on suspicion of multiple armed robberies at four separate 7-Eleven stores in Solano County that happened earlier this week, a Fairfield police lieutenant said.

The robberies took place at 7-Eleven stores on Phoenix Drive, East Tabor Avenue and Central Place in Fairfield and Sunset Drive in Suisun City between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. Sunday, Lt. Stephen Crane said.

Through an investigation police identified the suspects as 20-year-old Fairfield residents Dawaun Gillum and Robert Dorton, Crane said.

On Wednesday, officers conducted a traffic stop on Dorton in the 1300 block of Coolidge Street in Fairfield around 5:45 p.m. and detained him, according to Crane.

Following the traffic stop police served a search warrant with the assistance of a SWAT team at a residence in the 400 block of East Pacific Avenue where Gillum was found inside and taken into custody, he said.

Investigators recovered two handguns, one of which was stolen, and evidence that linked both men to all four robberies, Crane said.

Gillum and Dorton were booked into Solano County Jail on suspicion of armed robbery, conspiracy and possession of a stolen firearm.

Gillum was also booked for suspected personal use of a firearm during the commission of a robbery and Dorton was also booked on suspicion of being armed in the commission of a felony.
