CA Jacobs Wrestling Third at League Tournament
Team takes the Bronze as several wrestlers individually medal
The CA Jacobs wrestling team finished in third place in team scoring at the YCAL League Tournament on Saturday. This marks the end of the team season for the middle schoolers. Several wrestlers will continue on to the postseason with hopes of qualifying for the Tournament of Champions on March 9 in Loomis. The Cougars currently have two wrestlers already qualified for the prestigious tournament, Valentin Angel and Tyler Boston.
Leading the way in scoring points for the team were Angel Figueroa who finished as league champion at 112 lbs and Valentin Angel who finished an undefeated league season as the champion at 168 lbs.
Also medaling were Ivan Contreras 2nd place at 76 lbs, Jean Morales 2nd place at 122 lbs, Connor Smith 2nd place at 135 lbs, and Mike McCarthy 2nd place at 185 lbs.

Adding to the team-point total were Dale Bors-3rd at 83 lbs, Jacob Reger-3rd at 108 lbs, Tomas Peterson-3rd at 128 lbs and Mauricio Jimenez-3rd at 142 lbs.
Max Trujillo and Jesus Ramirez also wrestled hard for the Cougars.
