Dixon V.E.T.S. Housing Program.

The Dixon V.E.T.S. Housing Program is a springboard where homeless veterans can stay temporarily to get back on their feet both financially and medically while seeking personal housing, employment, treatment, and maintaining medical appointments. Various cash and/or material donations are needed for miscellaneous reasons, E.g. hygiene (toilet paper, paper towels), printer cartridges, paper (for printing resumes, making copies) and basic grounds maintenance (gas for mower, string for weedeater). Unfortunately, foodstamps will not buy these items. Many of these veterans already have something in the works, they just need a little more help up to become productive members of society. Also, if anyone here locally would like to donate some time in a classroom setting to teach basic computer skills, internet and email, and basic office skills, please contact Lis delaTorre at (707) 427-1148 ext. 119 to schedule a date and time. Any help would be appreciated. A list of local resources with addresses and phone numbers would also be appreciated.
