Anne Crow

1922-2012

Anne C. Crow of Cheyenne passed away February 22 at Amberwood Court Care Center in Denver, Colorado.

Anne was born Nov. 22, 1922, in Dixon, California to John and Amelia Rosa.  She was the second youngest of nine children.  She was a Catholic, and in 1940 she was crowned Queen of the Portuguese festival known as the Holy Ghost Festa.

In 1942 she joined the civilian workforce as an Army Air Corps Junior Clerk Stenographer at Hamilton Field CA.  There she met and married Cassaus D. Crow on January 10, 1947.

During her 30 years with Department of the Air Force she served as secretary for many commanders at various command levels.  Prior to moving to Cheyenne in 1953, she lived in Tokyo, Japan, where she was employed in the Far East Air Forces Headquarters.  Anne worked at Warren AFB as secretary to the base commander and later as secretary to the hospital commander.  She was Secretary of the Year in 1974.  She retired in 1982.

Anne is survived by her children, Marianne Jurkens of Longmont CO; John Crow of Cheyenne WY; and Liz Garten of Parker CO; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Cassaus D. Crow III.

A private memorial service will held on Mother’s Day at Warren AFB.

Cremation has taken place at Horan & McConaty.
