Sharon Rae Vogel

1944-2012

Sharon Rae Vogel, age 68, of Silverdale, Wash., and Sky Valley, Calif., died Sunday, May 27, 2012, at the Queen Anne Healthcare in Seattle, Wash., after a nine-year battle with breast cancer.

She was born April 9, 1944, in Woodland the daughter of Elmer and Margaret Schroeder.

Sharon graduated from Dixon High School in 1962 in Dixon, and she attended Sacramento State College until she married her husband George Hugh Vogel Jr.  George and Sharon would have celebrated their 49 years of marriage in June.

Sharon worked in her husband's business until they took an early retirement in 1999.  They sold their house and got rid of all their "stuff" and went full time RV'ing for 5 years.

Their travels took them from Alaska to Guadalajara, Mexico.  In 2004 they bought a small place near Palm Springs, where they would spend some of the winter when not in the motor home.

Sharon was an enthusiastic Seahawk football fan with 16 years of being a season ticket holder.  For many years, she was a Poulsbo Viking doing parades and charity work.  She was also an active member of the Sons of Norway Lodge, Poulsbo, Wash.

In addition to her husband, Sharon is survived by her son Jeff, his wife Mariann, and their two daughters Cordelia and Miranda.  She is also survived by her mother Margaret Schroeder, of Dixon; her mother-in-law Evelyn Vogel of Bremerton, Wash.; her brother and sister-in-law Bill and Kathy Schroeder of Dixon; her sister and brother-in-law Ellie and Jan Buhlert, of Jackson; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Vicki and Butch Azevedo, of Dixon; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Steve and Tina Vogel of Sequim, Wash.

She has also been blessed with a very close family, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Memorial and burial of ashes will be held in Dixon, CA, in the near future.
