Golden Gate Fields is no longer being considered for the Lawrence Berkeley National Labs Second Campus project.

Berkeley Lab Selects Richmond Field Station as Preferred Site

Berkeley, CA, January 23, 2012—The University of California announced today that it has identified the Richmond Field Station as its preferred site for the proposed consolidation of its biosciences programs of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab).  The University of California-owned site presents the best opportunity to solve the Lab’s pressing space problems while allowing for long term growth and maintaining the 80 year tradition of close cooperation with the UC Berkeley Campus.

In a separate communication from the above press release The Stronach Group reveals that it will continue to lease the acreage out for the purpose of farming.

Life continues on in our little town as the tea pot is again taken off of the lit burner and placed at the back of the stove ready for use on some other day.
