The City of Dixon is currently accepting applications for the vacancies on two city commissions.

Always wanted a say in how the City runs thing? The City of Dixon is currently accepting applications for the following vacancies on two city commissions — Parks and Recreation and Transportation Advisory Commission

One (1) vacancy on the Parks and Recreation Commission.  The Parks and Recreation Commission is an advisory body to the City Council on matters pertaining to recreation and park facilities.  Commissioners serve two-year terms, with a maximum of three consecutive terms.  The current vacancy is to fill the remainder of a two-year term expiring June 30, 2014.  The Parks and Recreations Commission meets at 7:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday of every month.  City residency is required.

One (1) vacancy on the Transportation Advisory Commission (TAC).  The Transportation Advisory Commission is an advisory body to the City Council on matters pertaining to traffic, transportation, and parking issues.  Commissioners serve four-year terms, with a maximum of two consecutive terms.  The current vacancy is to fill the remainder of a four-year term expiring on June 30, 2017.

The TAC meets at 7:00 p.m. the third Wednesday of even-numbered months. City residency is required.

A stipend of $50.00 per month is paid to each Commissioner.

The deadline for filing applications is 5:00 p.m., Friday, October 11, 2013.
