Grillin' & Chillin' Prep in Full Swing- Last Minute Rib/Chili Sign-Ups End 7/12

Volunteers still needed for the morning of July 20!

Dixon’s Grillin’ & Chillin’ cookoff and car show is right around the corner, event coordinators are working excitedly to pull all of the last minute details of this 4th annual event.

A dozen volunteers gathered for their final training session last night, how to properly serve beer. The TIPS class, hosted by certified training company, DBI beverages, taught volunteers not only the correct way of handling beer pouring, but how to check ID’s and ensure patrons aren’t being over served in order to lessen the chances of alcohol related incidents.

“We want the Grillin’ & Chillin’ to be a safe environment,” said event Director Mike Hamilton, “By having our beer booth operators properly trained, they know the warning signs of people who have had enough to drink and won’t sell them anymore.”
