Make things happen this weekend

It’s Friday and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do this weekend.

Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check our picks for the activities to hit and new places to explore.

1. Friday night offers BUNCO fun to benefit Dixon High School’s Sober Grad Night. Come to the cafeteria/multi-purpose room at the new DHS campus starting with a dinner at 6 p.m. You’ll have a choice of dinner salads, breads, beverages and desserts.  2. If there is any day of the year you might go to a museum, Saturday is your day! The 13th Annual Sacramento Free Museum Day will offer free admission at 26 different sites including the Hedrick Ag History Center in Woodland, the Railroad Museum in old Sacramento, the newly expanded Crocker Museum, and the Sacramento Zoo. The free pass to get in lasts all day and is proudly supported by Umpqua Bank. For more information and a list of participating museums, go to www.sacramento365.com.

 3. Don’t miss tonight’s Annual Crab and Prawn Dinner sponsored by the Dixon Game Conservation Club.  4. Davis Stampede Expo, Davis - Even if you missed the 5K, 10K, or Half Marathon known as the Davis Stampede, there are still plenty of things to see at Central Park, 4th and C Streets from 7:30 a.m. to noon. There will be many exhibitors’ booths to browse. The Stampede is an annual running and walking event that takes place each year on the first Sunday in February and is known as the kick-off for the Northern California running/walking season.

 5. Super Bowl XLV Party and Fundraiser for CAHPERD at Shenanigans, 705 J Street in Sacramento. Eat, drink, and cheer for your favorite team with special guest Adrian Ross, former Cincinnati Bengals linebacker. All ages are welcome and there is no entry fee. A portion of food and drink sales will be donated to the California Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance. There will also be raffle prizes that include free hotel night stays and physical activity equipment.
