Update: Barn on Griffin Drive suffers extensive fire damage
Dixon firefighters put out two-alarm structure fire Friday morning
A barn on Griffin Drive in Dixon suffered extensive damage in a two-alarm fire Friday morning.
Dixon firefighters were dispatched to a call about smoke in the area of Griffin Drive and North Meridian Road around 10:30 a.m., said Capt. John Malone. While enroute, another caller reported a fully involved structure fire, and officials raised the incident to a two alarm blaze.
Firefighters had the fire under control by 11:50 a.m., Malone said.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
There were no animals or other livestock in the barn, which was being used as a shop, according to Malone.

No one was injured. Damages include about $130,000 in contents, $60,000 in building loss and $3,000 in vehicle loss for a pick-up truck and travel trailer that were damaged.
