El Verduzco Hosts Grand Re-Opening Friday, One Year After Fire Destruction

After a kitchen fire caused El Verduzco Mexican Restaurant to close one year ago this month, they will finally host their grand re-opening today, June 28.

A Dixon Patch reader favorite, well known for their carnitas and shrimp plates, weekend menudo and micheladas, El Verduzco has added five new plates to the menu, alongside their original features.

The restaurant will host a grand re-opening, with 2-for-1 specials all day, and a dinner party complete with Mariachi band from 5-9PM.

New features include a wide open layout, state-of-the-art kitchen that has doubled in size, upgraded restrooms, and all new décor hand-picked by owner, and longtime Dixon resident, Everardo Angel in Mexico.

Normal operating hours will be Monday-Friday 9AM-9PM, and weekends 8 AM-9PM, and is located at 1005 North Adams St., between Viva Market and the Goodwill.

An estimated $300,000 in damages was caused, June 11, 2012, when an accidental kitchen fire broke out, resulting in complete loss of bathrooms, roof, kitchen and most restaurant fixtures and furniture. Angel, is very excited to be re-opening after long delays in clean-up, insurance payments, City permitting and reconstructing the beautiful new restaurant.
