"I didn't leave until after nine the other night because there were so many people that were asking questions about Dixon," said Chamber Administrator Carol Pruett. "It was really busy and I enjoyed myself."

Pruett helped organize staffing for the Dixon booth that has been done in the past by City staff.

But the volunteers weren't the only ones on the scene in Vallejo. Plenty of Dixon youth from the were also there showing their animals--rabbits, pigs, goats, and even cows.

Tanner and Brayden White both took top awards with their goats and had a great experience, according to their mother, Gina White who with husband, Barry, helps out with Tacy and John Currey's Wolfskill 4-H Club. To avoid shuttling their boys each day to the fair, they chose to bring their trailer and camp at the fair like other Dixon 4-H parents.

The event is open today from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and admission is $8 for adults; Over 60 seniors and children 6-12 years are $4; children age 5 and under are free. Military and their dependents with ID are also free.

The fair runs through today at 900 Fairgrounds Drive right off of Interstate 80 in Vallejo. For more information, go to www.scfair.com.
