Woman Cries Foul Against Local Liquor Store

Sacramento News 10 cameras were pointed at Dixon Food and Liquor after a Dixon resident reported that she was being over-taxed by the store

It might only equate to a couple of cents or more, but for a Dixon woman it's the principal of the matter.

Dixon resident Heidi Palchick told Sacramento News 10 cameras that she walked into four different times and paid four separate prices for bottles of Sobe energy water.

The store's owner allegedly told her that it was because of a rise in the CRV - the California Redemption Value - tax. The CRV in California is set to 5 cents for each beverage container less than 24 ounces and 10 cents for each container 24 ounces or greater.

But Palchick told News 10 cameras that she paid $1.28, $1.20, $1.17 and $1.10 including sales tax and CRV. When Palchick confronted the clerk on duty at the popular Dixon store, he told her that it was due to an increase in CRV tax, according to the story.
