Starbucks Remodel Almost Done; New Store Opens... THURSDAY

Coffee Cafe in the parking lot, caution tape, hard hats, pop-up tents, no drive-thru, and a line of confused customers: This has been the scene at the Dixon Starbucks since last Tuesday, but it will soon end.

UPDATE: The opening was bumped back to Thursday, August 29. The story below was done when scheduled reopening was Tuesday.

STORY: Remodeling began almost a month ago in the store next to in Dixon. Last Tuesday, August 14, the construction migrated over to teh coffee shop itself.

Rather than closing the busy store, a temporary mobile cafe was built right in the parking lot, which according to employees is only the second store in the company's history to do this. The drive-thru was closed, however, in order to rebuild the structural side of the building and reroute the driveway.
