Readers' Choice: Every Baking Moment

What better place to celebrate a child’s birthday party than a place that sells the goods that bake countless cakes, pies, and other goodies throughout the region?

But , now at its new location 143 N. First Street, is so much more. In fact, readers of Dixon Patch have chosen – through their comments, reviews and poll votes – Every Baking Moment as the best place in Dixon to take the kids for a birthday party.

For the past 12 years, owner Janis Luzzo has opened up her store for the birthday parties and innovative classes.

“They come in and decorate cakes and I provide everything for them,” she said. “If the parents want to bring in a cake to cut and serve they can. They bring pizza and open presents.”

Now, the popular store has more room than ever to host birthday parties and classes for all to enjoy.

“We have a brand new classroom that’s just going to be for parties and classes and it’s going to be in the back of the store, they will have privacy,” Luzzo said.

Part of the fun of having birthday parties at Every Baking Moment is that the children learn basic cake-decorating techniques. And when the party is finished, the children get to take a goodie home with them, Luzzo said.

Two weeks ago, Luzzo closed her doors at her old location ( 141 North First Street) and moved the store to 143 North First Street. The store didn’t skip a beat, Luzzo said, as they closed their doors over President’s Day Weekend and opened up shop at their new location on the next regularly scheduled workday.

The new location will allow Luzzo to expand her store with new inventory and offer a bevy of classes. Every Baking Moment is scheduled to host its Grand Re-Opening at the new story on April 13, 9 a.m., to 5 p.m., with a KUIC Coffee Break and a
