Learning the Strands for Business Success

Dixon Network Association Shares Referrals and Expertise

The is supposed to be a club to help create more business referrals and to many of the members, it’s also a great place to learn. Established to offer “The Strands to your business success,” the weekly meetings provide the opportunity for a member of the group to give a presentation about their business. And, the topics are as diverse as the various businesses represented.

For example, Beth Helmboldt of the Plumbing Doctor recently gave a presentation on the origins of the Dixon company that is now a franchise with two other locations. Elly Bishop of Roman Printing gave a presentation on the most popular marketing gadgets ordered by businesses large and small and how to select one right for your company.

The members have learned from an accountant, a downtown retailer, a computer repairman, a website creator, an insurance salesman, and investment counselor, a bank manager, a mortgage company owner, an auto repair shop owner, a stage production company owner, and several more.

“Every DNA meeting usually starts with member introductions, announcements about special events or promotions that their business is having as well as special events going on in the community that may serve as avenues for more contacts,” said Donny Everhart.

The group was originally started by Everhart as a means to grow his business and help others grow theirs. He is proud the group is now in its third year.  Some members have come and gone but still dozens have taken turns to speak and share special inside information about their trade.

“My business is now established and I believe DNA helped with that,” said Everhart.  Before each meeting ends, the members get a “30-second commercial” to finish the statement, “A great customer for me would be…” In between, there is plenty of time to socialize and enjoy their no-host breakfast.

They meet at Bud’s Pub at 7:15 each Tuesday and are usually done in enough time to get themselves off to work by 8:30 or 9am. For more information, call Everhart at (707) 673-7599 or email dixonnetworkingassociates.com.
